For the Drawing Room at WOW!house, Albion Nord collaborated with Turnell & Gigon Group and Barr Build to create a space that celebrates the enduring value of craftsmanship, materiality and collaboration.
Inspired by the great drawing rooms of the past, the scheme reinterprets traditional ideas of comfort, beauty and gathering through a contemporary lens. Rooted in a shared appreciation for provenance and the stories behind how things are made, the room brings together a carefully curated collection of furniture, textiles, artworks and objects, combining antique, bespoke and contemporary pieces.
Guided by three central themes — celebrating craftsmanship, working collaboratively and reinterpreting history — the design honours the remarkable makers, artisans and craftspeople whose work gives meaning and character to a space. Rich natural materials, layered textures and thoughtfully considered details create an atmosphere that feels both timeless and relevant.
The Drawing Room demonstrates the power of collaboration, bringing together specialists from across the design and craft industries to create a room that is rooted in tradition whilst firmly belonging to the present day.
